These cups are individually turned from solid oak, cherry or walnut while still at the moisture the tree grew.  We dry them after turning, completing that drying by roasting the interior with a torch.  This process leaves the cups asymmetrical from both the drying and heating, giving your hands a smooth but irregular character to explore as you sip from your cup.  We only use urban sourced wood (trees removed by necessity from urban areas surrounding Madison WI).
